Brennia Kottefaru Maldives

The property is just mesmerizing, the rooms are well laid out and have all the amenities. We stayed in a beach villa as well as the water villa with a pool. No doubt the water villa is just amazing but the beach villa is a great option as well if you are on a budget. The outdoor shower area in the water villa and the pool with the sunset view makes it great. The food is something the hotel should work on. They have a good variety of food but in terms of taste they have to improve a lot. Everyday was a different cuisine highlighted but out of like 15-20 items only 2-4 were good. However, the live pasta section helps with the meal. I would like to acknowledge Chef Guddu Ji, for catering us. The property has good activities like table tennis, PS5, foosball, carrom, tennis, small football lawn, gym, kids zone etc. I would highly recommend this hotel. Thanks for the stay.

After some dubious reviews we are more than willing and satisfied to recommend Brennia Kottefaru for a stay in ‘paradise’. Our first stay in the Maldives and a bucket list item ticked for us both. Brennia offers: friendly attentive staff willing to provide for all your needs, water sports for the active and total relaxation otherwise, 100% sunshine, pure white sand and the most magnificent blue, turquoise ocean. A multitude of sea life is on hand to enjoy. Our Overwater villa was perfect for our needs - privacy, full minbar replenished daily, one of the most comfortable beds I have slept in around the world (close to a Marriott) and a great outdoor shower, plunge pool and comfortable sun beds. A couple of wear and tear / maintenance issues were present and the only one causing an issue was repaired within 15 mins of being reported. An advisory was given about slippery steps into the sea but not regard the bannister that is coming apart (yet to be reported). Cleanliness is very good throughout the villa and indeed the island. Food & drink: Of three restaurants on the island we tried two. The main (Lime) restaurant staff (Kitchen and waiters) can only be applauded for producing a vast variety of excellent food and attending tables to deliver drinks and clear away plates, done in a very polite and friendly manner making each individual feel quite special. Very little concern with any staff apart from a couple of forgotten drinks. A special mention for ‘Salama’ - she made us feel special and ensure our needs were met at each meal. She recognised what we might need / suggested what we could have before we were able to ask. A very hard working individual. To be rewarded by us and hopefully by management when informed. Our main / only disappointment which we shall bring to attention on checkout was the meal in the Sunset Restaurant. We found this to be totally unacceptable as we were to be given a bill for c £100 for food and drink most of which is part of the All inclusive package. $49 for four not overly large prawns and chips is disappointingly unacceptable (again will be addressed at checkout). Service and environment was per a high end restaurant. As a suggestion we will mention this restaurant and the Manta restaurant should be included as part of the All Inclusive package, to dine once per stay. Housekeeping - Faultless !! A special mention for ‘Dusar’ as he kept the villa as we found it upon arrival - clean towels bedding dressing gowns bathroom daily as needed. Truly hard work from this young man is to be rewarded by us and hopefully by Management when informed. Along with Salama and Dusar we found all staff making that extra effort to please their customers, and they should also be applauded. We had a fabulous holiday. Beautiful little island with great beaches. White powder sand and blue seas. The greeting of the sea plane was lovely, we felt really welcome and so special. Loved the beach bar tucked away on the far side. Right on the beach, and much quieter than around the main pool. Our room was lovely (over water pool villa). Anwar looked after us really well. Always plenty of cold water and drinks in the fridge. The room was clean and spacious. The floating breakfast was good fun. The WhatsApp method of communication with reception and house keeping works really well. Used it for a couple of enquiries and got an instant response. Great Wi-Fi service in our villa and in other indoor areas (bar, reception etc). We liked that Brennia is not over developed, and is quite authentic. People who holiday here need to accept that this is a remote tropical island where the staff work hard to make a great environment for a real experience of the Maldives. I do struggle with some of the criticisms I’ve read in other reviews, which are really unnecessary and unkind. Global warming and erosion is impacting on the Maldives, and we could see the team here worked hard to try and manage this at Brennia. The food was good, loved the fruit bar. We ate at one of the restaurants and would recommend despite the additional cost which wasn’t expensive. Cocktails were ok, but the quality of the spirits wasn’t brilliant in the all inclusive package, but we found what we did like and stuck with it. The dining room does get a little hot, but this is a tropical island after all, so what would you expect? Air conditioning isn’t the answer, we just adjusted to the heat after a couple of days. We went on holiday in February to get away from the cold! We took advantage of the free snorkelling trip, the guide was great. Also, canoeing and paddle boarding. No need to pack shoes, we lived in flip flops! We loved it
